How often

At least once per tour and whenever the device is moved or altered, with the result documented. Also before the first stand of every trip and after every slip and cut. Record on the IADC report. The PM Plan also lists the Crown-O-Matic as a Driller daily item and a monthly Category II.

A crown saver that fails is a stop. Do not trip until it is fixed and retested. Tell the Driller and the Rig Manager now.
